Years of stage and recording experience can only culminate in a finely tuned cohesive unit. Enter NOVARIUM.

Founded in 2013, The Washington, DC based, female-fronted outfit—vocalist Lisa D'Arcangelis, guitarists Sean Gronholt and Dean Michaels, bassist Eliakon and drummer Dean Anthony— marries the doom and gloom of contemporary metal music with the hooks of synth leads and string arrangements of its’ gothic counterparts.

With a debut album due early 2016, NOVARIUM enlisted the help of fellow gothic rock alumni, Micah Consylman, formerly of Metropolis Records recording artists, BELLA MORTE. With additional tracking and production at Consylman’s studio, Final Symphony, the band was able to create the perfect blend of dark ambience, powerful vocals, and exceptional musicianship. Mixing and mastering at Antithesis Studios in Maryland with Ashley Maccabee is currently underway.

Haunting and poetic, with intermittent moments of energy, NOVARIUM has created a monster.

Shumaun initially started as a solo project by Farhad Hossain (ex singer/guitarist/keyboardist of the Sensory Records progressive metal outfit Iris Divine). After recording a few demos, he decided to recruit a few friends to help build the project into a full-fledged collaborative band. Through the course of recording their self-titled debut album, Shumaun went through a period of tribulation while securing a drummer. Original drummer Tanvir Tomal (ex Iris Divine) had to leave for professional obligations in the middle of the recording sessions and was later replaced with Waqar Khan (Entity Paradigm), who is also well known for his work with the platinum-selling Ali Azmat of the EMI recording artist Junoon (one of South Asia's most successful rock bands). Waqar remained with the band long enough to record a few tracks on the debut record as well as appear live for some of the earlier shows. He later had to leave due to professional obligations that required relocation.

Drumming legends Travis Orbin (Darkest Hour, Periphery) and Mark Zonder (Fates Warning, Warlord) recorded the remaining drums on the debut record that's expected to be released early in the fall of 2015.

The Shumaun sound is shaped by the soaring vocals and lead guitar work of Farhad Hossain, the pounding melodic bass lines of Jose Mora, the subtle guitar nuances of Tyler Kim, and the technical and groove-oriented drumming of Tanvir Tomal, who has recently returned to the group as they are currently rehearsing to get back into the live circuit to support the new record.

• What they are saying about BRAVE...

by undoubtedly skilled AND talented musicians. The atmosphere captured on
this CD is beyond any descriptions...Truly a magical world..." - VAE SOLIS

sentimental music..." - METAL REALM

Hailing from Southern Maryland, Neo-Classical Rock guitarist Matthew Mills began playing guitar at the age of fifteen after being blown away by Yngwie Malmsteen’s “Trilogy” album. Taking guitar very seriously, Matthew began practicing as much as 6 to 8 hours a day while listening to Malmsteen, Vinnie Moore, Jason Becker, Tony MacAlpine, Joe Stump and George Bellas. These guitarists were a huge impact on his playing style. “Matt Mills is a guitarists dream. Unreal technique combined with a great sense of melody, which grabs your ear and bends it to painless delight. Soaring runs and arpeggio heaven, this guy is carrying the torch for the future of Neo-Classical guitar. It was a pleasure playing on Matt’s upcoming masterpiece. Check out his recordings or see it live…..you won’t be disappointed.” -Sean Baker (December 11, 2006) Voted as one of the “50 Fastest Guitar Shredders of All Time” in the July 2008 issue of Guitar World Magazine, Mills is also endorsed by Schecter Guitars and conducts clinics for them. Mills has opened for guitarists Yngwie Malmsteen, Joe Stump and George Lynch with his previous band “Forgotten Realm”. Matthew is heavily involved with his instrumental project “ Mills is also an accomplished guitar instructor in the Northern Virginia area, teaching intermediate and advanced students. Some of Matthew’s students are in touring bands and have released solo albums as well as winning numerous guitar competitions. One notable student is Jason Richardson of the band “All Shall Perish” and “Born of Osiris”, currently touring the United States. Matthew has released four solo albums including Matthew Mills “Neoclassical Rock Guitar”, Matthew Mills “Neoclassical Rock Guitar Part 2”, Matthew Mills “Neoclassical Spirit", and Matthew Mills “The Neoclassical Journey”. Guest soloists on “Neoclassical Spirit” include Joe Stump and George Bellas. David Shankle (formerly of “Manowar”) also contributed guitar solos to the album and to “The Neoclassical Journey”. The album “Neoclassical Rock Guitar” was the number one top seller on the Neo-Classical Metal section of Guitar Nine Records for 2005 and the number two best Neo-Classical seller for 2006. Mills also recorded an album with the band “Forgotten Realm” in 2009, (self-titled on Sonic Age Records), distributed through Century Media and The End Records. The “Forgotten Realm” members are vocalist David Fefolt (formerly of “Masi”), with drums done by Rhino of the band “Manowar” and drummer Reynold Carlson (Joey Tafolla, Jag Panzer), and Brian Sanders. Matthew also contributed guitar solos to “Pig destroyers” 2004 album release “Terrifyer”, sold worldwide through Relapse Records and also contributed solos to the band “Adversary” 2008 (Trustkill Records). Showcasing dueling leads and sinewy harmonies, pounding rhythms and searing vocals, explosive stage shows and exacting performances, Division present the complete package. For nearly twenty years, Division has stood, while the trends have come and gone.

Division continues to play a rotating list of favorites from their first four CDs in current live shows, while building up to their fifth release, "The Hate Machine", the first album featuring the return of prior members Scott Stewart, Dan Plunkett, and Marc Stauffer. This disc lives up to its title, with angry, anthemic songs like '"World Decay", "Alpha (Feeding the Lie)", and "United We Fall" being showcased before the album's release.
