Dvorak's "New World Symphony" With BSO & Food Trucks

One of the first major works to incorporate folk influences deriving from African-American and Native-American music, Dvorak wrote his thrilling Ninth Symphony soon after arriving in New York City in 1892. Widely known as "The New World Symphony", this thrilling work by the great Czech composer has been wildly popular since its premiere over 120 years ago. Neil Armstrong even took a recording of it with him to the moon. Now you can hear this masterpiece played by the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, led by Tito Munoz, at the Music Center at Strathmore. Violin protégé Ariel Horowitz joins the BSO for this show that includes Barber's "School for Scandal Overture" and Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto. You'll even have a chance to eat from some of Washington, D.C.'s best food trucks.
