Soprano Olga Orlovskaya: "Parade of Favorites"

About Soprano Olga Orlovskaya: "Parade of Favorites"

Russian Opera Singer Olga Orlovskaya & the Washington Balalaika Society Orchestra

The Washington Balalaika Society celebrates the rich musical heritage of Russia, Ukraine and other Eastern European countries, as well as classical favorites and even Broadway's Lerner and Loewe, in a captivating concert with Olga Orlovskaya. A coloratura soprano, Orlovskaya was born into a family tradition of musical mastery and superior showmanship -- her great-grandfather is one of the most renowned Russian opera singers of the 20th century, bass Feodor Chaliapin. Orlovskaya herself has won prizes at international opera competitions in France, Bulgaria, Luxembourg, Moscow and Italy, and comes to Wakefield High School in Arlington under the baton of WBS Maestra Svetlana Nikonova.
