About The Comedy Pigs "Comedy Extravaganza"

Two-Day "Comedy Extravaganza" From Local Sketch and Improv Hams The Comedy Pigs

The Comedy Pigs have scoured the Maryland-Virginia-D.C. area for the funniest groups to feature during their weekendlong "Comedy Extravaganza", with two nights of everything from improv games and long-form improv to stand-up comedians and sketches, and everything in between. Founded in 1992, the Pigs vaulted to fame when, after two years as an ensemble, Comedy Central picked up their music video "Wiener Dog" -- a parody of the Beatles song "Blackbird." In the years following, the Pigs have written more than 200 sketches and songs and performed at national comedy festivals all over the country, including an appearance at the National Pork Producers Convention. Now Maryland Ensemble Theatre co-hosts this "Comedy Extravaganza" with these local hams who take having fun seriously.
