Gilbert and Sullivan were masters of comedy, and their "The Mikado" stands as one of their most popular and well-crafted operettas. Set in a fictional Japanese town where flirting is a serious legal infraction, "The Mikado" tells the story of a wandering minstrel who falls for Yum-Yum, a beautiful young woman who is betrothed to another.
