About A Tribute to Carole King: Tapestry & Best of Goffin-King

Pop music as we know it would be far different without the many lasting contributions of Carole King, Over the course of a remarkable 6 decade career, she has written, sung, and played her way into the hearts of millions. Considering the number of artists for whom she has written hits and the off the charts success for her own performances that began with Tapestry, she is assuredly on any credible Mount Rushmore of pop music.

Her epic 1971 album ‘Tapestry’ has sold more than 25 million copies and was ranked #36 on Rolling Stone Magazines Top 500 Albums. It gave us hits like "I Feel The Earth Move" & "Its Too Late:, and helped it earn Album of the Year honors. Previously she had established her genuis as the musical half of the Goffin-King songwriting partnership that began in the late 50’s and continued through the 60’s giving us many of the greatest songs ever written. Up On The Roof, Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow, Cryin In the Rain, Pleasant Valley Sunday and Don’t Bring Me Down are but a few of their classics. They were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1990.

A Tribute to Carole King will feature the Tapestry album performed in its entirety by a remarkable collection of singers and musicians. A 2nd set will feature some of the greatest hits of Goffin-King and will feature a string section, and horns to properly capture the sound of these iconic records.
